Summary

Macroscopy Text

AHP has been developing macroscopic and organoleptic characterizations for botanicals for several years in preparation as a textbook Macroscopic Characterization of Botanical Medicines. This will be a companion to its award winning Microscopic Characterization of Botanical Medicines (CRC Press 2011). The text will provide scientifically valid macroscopic and organoleptic characterizations of the same botanicals included in the microscopy text as well as new botanicals. As with the Microscopic Characterization of Botanical Medicines, the focus will be on providing guidance on how macroscopic and organoleptic assessments should be done in a scientifically valid manner with an accompanying atlas of macroscopic and organoleptic profiles. Also emphasized will be the detection of adulterations as well as quality assessment. A number of botanicals included have never been characterized in any other resource.

Sponsorship provides a great opportunity to show your company’s support for quality assurance as well as advertising your company name and logo. The sponsorship page will be placed in the front section of the Textbook of Botanical Microscopy.

Sincerely,

Roy Upton, President
American Herbal Pharmacopoeia
